WIE PANEL FOR MetroSea 2021
Sharing idea with experienced and early-stage researchers
AIM OF THE PANEL:
Exploiting the role model and mentoring characteristics of women involved in specific research area of MetroSea2021.
PROPOSERS:
Patrizia Lamberti, University of Salerno, Italy
Roberta di Pace, University of Salerno, Italy
Giulia Cipriano, University of Bari Aldo Moro, Italy
PANEL DESCRIPTION:
In line with the objectives of the WIE Committment Chart "Steering girls to STEM" (https://site.ieee.org/italy-wie/steer2stem/), the purpose of the panel is to promote female models who are role models and who carry out mentoring activities towards young minds.
To this end, the panel wants to highlight how, from the comparison between experienced and early-stage researchers on their respective experiences, it is possible to identify guidelines and prospects for growth and good practices that increase the presence of young women in the marine research sector linked to the METROLOGY.
Each speaker, role model in the reference sector, will give a technical talk addressing one topic between Marine Biology and Oceanography, followed by two early-stage researchers who will take the floor to briefly talk about their experience.
